Leipzig - Grünau

Built 40 years ago in the German Democratic Republic, Grünau on the outskirts of Leipzig once was meant to be one of the youngest and biggest newly-built quarters in Germany. Since the Fall of the Wall, population numbers have halved and youngsters tend to leave the neighborhood after graduation. An essay about a fading dream and its today's remains, somewhere between past and future. (monochrome historical photographs by Harald Kirschner)
